Things To Do In Pokhara In One Day

Some travelers are confused about the fact that Pokhara is near Kathmandu and can be visited as a day trip. However, Pokhara is 210 kilometres from Kathmandu and takes 5–6 hours to reach by road. The windy roads in Nepal can make the journey longer, so it is not recommended to attempt a day trip from Kathmandu. If there is no traffic, it is even more unlikely that you will be able to see the sunset on the same day.

The quickest way to get to Pokhara is by plane, which takes only 25 minutes. Buddha Air and Yeti Air offer flights to Pokhara several times a day. You can contact us to book the best deals on flights to Pokhara.

If you are in monsoon time, you will be amazed, but it is still a worthwhile place to visit and has a story behind this fall.  Some people expect the same views and things as in 1998 or before, but by the time the climate has changed, it might not look exactly like what you are seeing in pictures.

Gupteshwor Cave

This is the natural cave in Pokhara, and the Shiva statue is inside this cave. This cave is just opposite Davis Falls, and you need to walk around 250 steps down with dripping water. This place is slippery, so be careful walking inside. Guptesshwor Cave is not only a religion but also a place to see natural things, and at the end, you can see the waterfall. It is worth visiting, and this place can combine with Davis Fall.

Mahendra Cave

If you are imagining that it's wow and something magical inside, then don't visit. Mahendra Cave is another cave that is similar to Gupteshowr Cave but bigger. Mahendra cave has stories behind it, so it's better to be with the guide, and it's known as the most interesting cave in Pokhara, Nepal. Walking deep down to the earth in darkness, you will get a headlight and light inside the cave, and bats will be flying around. It's a worthwhile place to visit in Pokhara.

International Mountain Museum

If you want to learn how mountaineers climb mountains, then it's a worthwhile place to visit in Pokhara. Here you can get so much information about the ethnic groups, the major peaks, and the people who summited the Himalayas.

You can even enjoy boating in the Fewa Lakes and visit Tal Barahi Temple. Tal Barahi Temple is in the middle of the Fewa Lake. Mostly in this temple, many kinds of celebrations and activities happen, such as marriage, so it is worth visiting here. Rent a boat and sail around the lake. Another lake is Begnas, which is bigger and more famous, but people don't put it in their itinerary or even in blogs. This lake is a more quiet and beautiful lake in Pokhara. You will not see all the mountain reflections in this lake, but along the way to Begnas, you can see the Himalayan ranges. It's quite far, about 20 km, from Pokhara Lakeside, but a worthwhile place to visit.
